Solar Energy Panel Report

Sunday June 13 approximately ten people gathered in the fellowship hall to discuss our options for reducing our carbon and electrical consumption by supplementing our need with solar energy. Coming into the meeting we knew that we were at the infancy stages of moving towards any use of solar energy at Bethlehem Lutheran. Tim Peterson and Jack Paulson will begin the process by gathering information about our current use of gas and electric. From there we will look at options for solar energy, payback timetables, grant availability and then combining this information we will start down an informed path towards choosing the best options for Bethlehem Lutheran. The follow up meeting for the Solar Energy task force is set for Sunday, August 1 at 8:00 a.m. More people are welcome to join in this discussion and investigation.

Tuesday Morning Text Study - Resuming Tuesday September 7th, Bethlehem Lutheran will be hosting a weekly Tuesday morning Bible Study. The study will be for one hour beginning at 11:00 a.m. We will be looking at the Bible readings for the upcoming Sunday. Because many of the mainline denominations are on the same cycle of Sunday Morning readings this study is open to anyone in the community who wants to study God's word together. Please attend as you are able and pass the invitation along to others.

 Give Back Garden Practice –
Sharing the Abundance of our Harvest

What we have set up is this: Please bring your garden produce to church during the week or when you come to worship and place it on a table in the front entry way. At this point we are thinking that, if nobody has any objection, as congregational members leave worship they are welcome to bring home some of the produce being shared. All remaining produce will be brought to the food pantry on Monday morning or Thursday evening.

We have contacted the Portage and Pardeeville/Wyocena food pantries and learned what is needed and how to get the produce to the appropriate places. Basically the food pantries are in great need of any and all fresh produce and their hours of operation make it quite convenient for you to bring your produce to church on Sunday and/or Wednesday and then from there it will be brought to the food pantries for distribution.
